Saint-Gobain in Scotland is proud to be part of a new initiative led by Business In The Community (BITC) to help former service men and women into employment.
The initiative supports the Scottish Government’s “Renewing Our Commitments” plan to establish Scotland as the destination of choice for service leavers and their families, and encourages businesses to work together to inspire, hire and grow job opportunities for veterans in Scotland.
In support of this initiative, HRH The Prince of Wales recently joined veterans, guests and businesses at a special event. The event was attended by a number of organisations, including Saint-Gobain, taking part in the initiative.
Stuart McKill, Sustainable Habitat Leader in Scotland, said: “There are more than 500,000 veterans and their families in Scotland, and statistics show that former service men and women can find it difficult to get back into long-term employment.
“We are proud to be supporting this initiative, as veterans have a wide range of skills, experience and training that can truly benefit Scottish businesses.”
